2018 sorrel Quarter Horse geldingDodge, NEAustinG
Ed (registered Commander Cody) is an 8-year-old AQHA sorrel gelding standing 15.3 hands and weighing about 1250 lbs, out of Dodge, Nebraska. He's a genuine, experienced ranch horse used for night calving, ranch rodeos, feedyard work, and doctoring cattle solo, with a quiet, sit-for-months-then-saddle-and-go temperament, a loose rein manner, light face, and good handle for roping. He's broke to flags, whips, hot shots, and rattle paddles, loads fat cattle, works the tub (including at night), ties, hauls, and is easy for the farrier. The seller is upfront that heavy feedyard mileage (12-15 miles roughly every third day) has caught up with his legs: stifles ultrasounded clean at Nebraska Equine, hocks x-rayed with a finding the vet called not severe, one round of injections tried without clear improvement, and an occasional hitch downhill or on a hard stop. The vet cleared him to keep working as before, but the seller feels he's better suited to a lighter workload going forward and will share x-rays and welcomes a vet check. Asking $11,500, no trades or payment plans.
