Pistol is a 2023 AQHA roan gelding, 15 hands and 1150 lbs, consigned to the Billings Livestock Horse Sale on 26 September 2026 in Billings, MT by Washburn Performance Horses. He's described as safe, sane and gentle, catches easily from the pasture, and has genuine ranch miles: working circles, dragging calves to the fire, and overnight pack trips into the mountains. Under saddle he lopes nice circles, stops hard, turns around, side passes to objects for mounting, works gates, and rides up in the bridle, with the seller noting he'll work to the level of a novice or experienced rider. His pedigree traces through JULZ BLUE VALENTINE (Hancock/Silver Blue Hancock lines) on the sire's side and JOSHS JEWELL (Docs Sir Quincy Dan, Ho Impressive Moon) on the dam's side. He has a small blue spot in his left eye that's been vet-checked and doesn't affect him. Photos and video show him being ridden calmly outdoors, around cattle, and doing barrel/pattern and obstacle work (including a tarp exercise) in an indoor arena.
