Penny is an estimated 12 to 13 year old, 15 hh grade Quarter Horse mare (chestnut, no papers despite AQHA breed listing) located in Anderson, California, offered for $4,000 negotiable. Raised on a ranch, she was broke to ride before spending several years as a broodmare, leaving her with low, easy miles and a calm, willing temperament (rated 3 out of 10 for spiritedness). She is described as sound and healthy with good feet, easy to shoe, an easy loader, and comfortable and smooth under saddle, though she could use a tune-up after time off. She gets along well with other horses, will ride out alone but may call for companions, and is suited to trail, ranch versatility, or gymkhana work. Photos show a well-conditioned chestnut mare with no visible white markings, being ridden in an arena doing cattle work and barrel work as well as out on a paved road.
